Cleaning and moisturizing your skin regularly: Cleansing your skin has to do with you bathing regularly. This should be at least twice a day. The skin is mostly covered with layers of dead skin cells and helpful bacteria that protect the body from germs and harmful agents getting into the body.
Bathing regularly help wash away this dead skin layer, but bathing too often is not advised. Bathing too often will wash away these helpful bacteria, leaving the skin exposed to harmful agents that may want to penetrate the body through the skin.
People need to shower at least once a day or every two days, but if you live in humid climate, work at the infirmary or take a public transit to work every day, you should shower at least twice a day. This is to wash away bacteria that you might have contacted directly from your seat or people who get in contact with you.

Bathing in hot water for a long period will strip helpful oil from the body. And this can worsen skin diseases like eczema. Using strong soaps on your skin also removes oil from your skin, leaving it dry, and hard.
Use mild soaps. Soaps that contain aloe vera, vegetable oil and herbs are helpful to the skin. Soaps that contain alcohol, and agents like sodium lauryl sulfate are bad for the skin as they tend to dry up the oil, making the skin tight.
Use only soaps that fit your skin type. If you have dry skin use moisturizing soaps, and if you have sensitive skin, use soaps free from fragrance.
Exfoliating your skin at least twice a week helps keep the skin nourished at all times. Skin exfoliation will remove layers of dead skin cell lying in your skin, bringing out fresh and new skin. This will leave your skin nourished and glowing.
